Review for CYO/bac constitution

I here by sending you the Chin Youth Organization of Bay Areas California (CYO/bac) Constitution for the review of your opinion and feed back in order to flexible our constitution. Knowingly that some of our constitution  articles, chapters and sections would not be appropriated with the basic principles foundation of CYO constitution. Therefore we do need your valuable criticism and ideology support in order to search a better solution for the sack of the CYO. If possible each and every local CYO organization groups also cloud have bring up together your ratify constitution it would will thankful to you.

About Chin Youth Organization of Bay Areas California |(CYO/bac)

We, the first Chin Youth Organization of Bay areas California was held on 04/11/2009 at Bay areas Chin Christian Fellowship, California, USA and total of 20 Chin peoples

The attendant of the meeting  discussed the opportunities and challenges facing Chin and explored way to promote better communication ,cooperation and solidarity  not only among  the chin peoples in California but also in various countries  around the globes (world).

TO RESOLVE ,90% of the attendants meeting unanimously decided to establish ( and given  to  take initiative   to namely  |Salai Tluang Vel Lian, El Sobrante,|David  Oakland ,|Kyaw Sit Naing San Francisco. SALAI Wiyen |Daly |City,Khi Maung  San Jose ) In the second  meeting was held on 5/2/09  and  formally form  Chin Youth Organization  of Bay |Areas California   (CYO/bac) which is an independent and non-profit organization ,dedicated to promote and standing up for the common cooperation, solidarity and unity  among Bay Areas  Chin community of California and is committed to working towards the promotion and preservation of social ,economics  and chin literature and culture, and heritages.

PREAMBLE OF (CYO/bac)

We, the Chin youths who, for reasons of prolonged and sustained political repression in Burma, have come to Bay Areas California of North America, solemnly believing in the importance of

* Youth role in shaping the future of peaceful for co-exiting our homeland/Chinland,

* To promote trust, understanding solidarity and cooperation among Chin people

*To assist, cooperate in, contribute effort towards the development and rebuilding of Chinland.

* Laying out a foundation on which to build national unity, mutual respect, solidarity and greater understanding through a unified effort

* Informing the people of CHIN about the institutions used to encourage the practice of democracy, freedom of expression, freedom of association, and due respect of human rights in Burma.

Chin History Timeline (AD1800-2006)

Pre-Colony Period, Anglo - Chin War

1800 - 1870 - Chinland was peaceful and quiet, thus practicing feudal chief ruling system even though cruel slavery was avoided by their conscience. In these years, new villages were established by the descendents of chiefs.

1871 - British established tea plantations in the Chin territory on Indian border. The Chin people on the western side therefore raided the British tea planters accusing them intruding into the Chin territory. The Chin captures a little young girl the age of five by the name Mary Wincherster who was left behind by adult tea planters as they all ran away from the raid.

1871-72 - The British invaded the western Chinland, rescued the little girl and returned to India.

1885 - The British administrators in India who also ruled Burma since 1885 declared war to invade the whole Chin country in synchronization on both sides from Burma and India.

Welcome to CYO

In commemoration of the 62nd Chin National Day, this new CYONA website has been launched. In 2009, the first CYONA website was initiated in order to display information about our organization as much as we can.  CYONA, as a young organization formed by Chin youth in North America continent, still has been attempting to improve in all fields that the organization has been destined to. This new web template has been born in substitution of our previous template. We wish that this website will reveal about who we are, what we are doing and what we have been doing for and how. We wish our visitor of the site would see our transparency and uniqueness while  navigating through our pages.

 

In this new website, News section where news related to Chin people and Burma political issues together with top global breaking news will be regularly written and updated both in Hakha-Chin language and English. 

 

All most every seasons, we the Chin people always have traditional festivals, events and activities. This is one of our intention for publishing this website that photos and images from those activities and events will be displayed on our web. Multimedia section will be regularly updated with images, songs and video clips.

 

 In order to maintain and promote Chin language and literature, Hakha-Chin will be vastly used in this web because Hakha-Chin language is used by majority of diverse ethnic-tribes in the current Chin State in Burma and those diaspora Chin around the world. Socio-political, Socio-economic and  religious Articles and Poems written by Chin scholar writers and researcher also will be accessible in this new website.
